Scarlet Rivera
Musician
Grammy nominated American musician Scarlet Rivera burned a hole in the fabric of rock history as a pioneer of electric violin. From a classical background she bent the accepted norms by experimenting with all genres of music from Rock fusion and Jazz to Latin polyrhythms. She was a revolutionary from the start.
Bob Dylan was the first to discover and acknowledge Scarlet, inviting her as an integral part of the legendary album ‘Desire’ and Rolling Thunder Revue tour. Dylan recognized the genius of Scarlet’s vision as a violinist who played much like a lead guitarist. Scarlet’s dynamic presence led the way to the inclusion of other string players in Rock music. ‘Desire’ was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the top five albums of Dylan’s career and was Scarlet’s debut on the world stage.
As the first female member of Dylan’s band Scarlet was featured on four additional multi-platinum albums. She is known for her contributions to countless recordings and performances with the most influential artists of our time. Her abilities are wide ranging and have enjoyed the spotlight in music’s most hallowed Carnegie Hall, with The Duke Ellington Orchestra as well as The Kennedy Center and the Carnival of Venice, Italy. Her current Grammy nominated vocal debut, ‘All of Me’, has been spotlighted with stellar reviews around the world.
Scarlet continues her journey of expression and creativity having performed with such treasured legends as Indigo Girls, Tracy Chapman, Eric Andersen, Keb Mo, Peter Maffay, David Johansen and Sylvia Tyson of ‘Ian and Sylvia’, and five time Grammy winner Cindy Cashdollar.
Activism
Animal Rights and Conservation
My greatest passion that lies at the foundation of my music is the love of nature & all things wild. I am greatly concerned that humanity’s ever growing disconnection has led to disrespect & lack of concern that fuels the destruction of the natural world.
I will use my musical platform to advocate for Wildlife conservative & permanent protection of wild lands & habitats, & humane treatment of animals. I support & promote the growing movement to return to respect & protect the Earth.
ClimateMusic
The ClimateMusic Project is excited to announce a new collaboration with celebrated violinist, composer, and recording artist Scarlet Rivera. The new work will explore a “win-win” scenario under which humanity succeeds in combating climate change while preserving species through reforestation.
The music will directly reference the latest science on the causes and extent of deforestation and prospects for reversing it, and it will be synchronized to a visual element that will reinforce the story in the music.
A Call 2Peace
A Call 2 Peace (AC2P) concert series takes shape regularly with Scarlet Rivera as a core artist, along with Federico/Freddy Ramos (guitar: main guitarist from the movie "Coco"), Ron Wagner (drums & percussion: Chick Correa, Cirque Du Soleil), Sonia Kazarova (vocals: Europe & USA) and the founder of AC2P Eduardo Del Signore (bass guitar: Jon Anderson (YES), Dionne Warwick).
Numerous other guest performers join them at every concert. 2019 saw AC2P become a registered foundation with 3 directors, Eduardo Del Signore, Scarlet Rivera and Sonia Kazarova. Part of the proceeds from every concert are donated to a different charity organisation.
AC2P concerts will be listed on Scarlet's 'Appearances' page. Please go to the AC2P website for further details.
The ClimateMusic Project combines climate science with music to inspire and facilitate action on the climate crisis.
This new project featuring Scarlet Rivera will spark new insight and open a critical new pathway to active conversations about the climate crisis and realistic ways to access a better path forward.
The World Peace Violin
The McCollum Foundation is dedicated to creating a better world. Our mission is to create world peace on a universal scale through promoting a meta-narrative which establishes everyone and everything as equally sacred and essential, all sentient and non-sentient beings as family, and all needs, dreams and desires being met by empowering individuals and organizations to live this narrative. We believe this can be achieved through fostering inter-faith understanding and cooperation, and ending religious discrimination, for all spiritualities offer wisdom. Therefore, all people of the world should be honored as brothers and sisters.
The World Peace Violin serves as a powerful metaphor for both the beauty and diversity of our planet and for the successful integration of its religions, cultures, and people. It is bringing peace to the world.
